When Yui Hirasawa enters high school, she wants to join a club but can’t decide which one is right for her. Fortunately, the Light Music Club is desperate to find another member or they’ll be disbanded! So, with the enticement of delicious snacks and assurance that no musical experience is necessary, Yui joins the Light Music Club. She becomes the guitarist in this all-girl high school rock band with Mio Akiyama on bass, Tsumugi Kotobuki on keyboard and Ritsu Tainaka on drums. Together, they’re going to rock the school and someday make it to the Budokan! Now, if only they can put down the snacks just long enough to practice
Yui Hirasawa: Lead Vocals, Guitar
Yui was just a spacey freshman that didn’t know what she wanted to do when she entered high school but once
she joined the Light Music Club, she found her purpose and new best friends. She’s supposed to the frontman for
the band but it’s so hard to fit music lyrics, guitar chords and algebra into her head!
Mio Akiyama: Lead Vocals, Bass Guitar
Because she’s so timid, Mio thought that playing bass guitar would keep her from being the center of attention.
But in times of crisis, Mio is forced to overcome her stage fright and step up to the microphone and sing.
Ritsu Tainaka: Drums
Ritsu has known Mio since kindergarten and she is always messing with her. Being the club president means that
it’s her job to fill out the paperwork to book their gigs but she just can’t be bothered to do that.
Tsumugi Tainaka: Keyboards
Tsumugi originally wanted to join the chorus club but because of Ritsu and Mio’s convincing invitation, she
joined the Light Music Club instead. Now everyone looks forward to tea time during band rehearsals because of
the sweets and tea she brings in from home.
Azusa Nakano: Guitar
Azusa is a year younger than the rest of the girls but she’s not lacking in any talent due to playing the guitar since
the fourth grade because of her parent’s musical background. She’s quite serious about playing music and the
easy going atmosphere of the club’s rehearsals bothers her but she learns to loosen up a bit and have some fun.
